New Delhi– The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has introduced a Points, Rewards and Recognition (PRR) mechanism on the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Portal to encourage young people to participate consistently in volunteering, experiential learning, civic engagement and other nation-building activities.
Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said the initiative is aimed at converting youth participation into recognition, opportunities and leadership, describing young people as the “strength of Viksit Bharat.”
Under the new system, participants will accumulate points through eligible activities listed on the MY Bharat Portal. As they cross defined milestones, they will receive progressively higher levels of recognition, rewards and opportunities.
Young people reaching 1,000 points will receive a formal MY Bharat Letter of Recognition signed by the Director of the MY Bharat Division. Participants reaching 2,500 points can also be recognised through MY Bharat’s official social media platforms, subject to consent for publishing their name, photograph and MY Bharat ID.
At 5,000 points, achievers will be featured in a dedicated MY Bharat Digital Hall of Fame on the portal. Their profiles will include their name, MY Bharat ID, photograph and a brief profile based on their public information.
The rewards become more substantial at higher milestones. Participants reaching 7,500 points will receive a hardbound copy of Modi@20. Those who accumulate 10,000 points will be eligible for a signed copy of The Golden Road: How Ancient India Transformed the World by William Dalrymple.
At the 20,000-point milestone, eligible youth will receive a signed hardbound copy of Treasures of India: From Antiquity to Modernity by DK, signed by the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The programme also links higher levels of participation with opportunities to interact with senior youth leadership. Youth achieving 50,000 points will have an opportunity to meet the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports during a future edition of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) or another major youth engagement event.
At the highest proposed milestone of 1,00,000 points, eligible participants will have an opportunity to meet the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports during an upcoming VBYLD.
The ministry said achievers at the 50,000 and 1,00,000-point levels will be identified through the MY Bharat Portal, followed by verification by MY Bharat Headquarters. Their felicitation is proposed to begin from October 2027.
The PRR mechanism is designed as a progressive pathway, beginning with certificates and digital recognition and moving towards rewards and direct engagement with national youth platforms.
According to the ministry, the initiative is intended to build a sustained culture of volunteering, civic participation, community service and leadership among young people.
The programme is aligned with the vision of “Samarth Yuva, Viksit Bharat”, with MY Bharat seeking to encourage young citizens to remain actively involved in community development and nation-building activities.
