Global Energy Leaders’ Summit (GELS) 2025 Logo and Website Launched in New Delhi

Minister of State for Power Shripad Naik unveils GELS 2025 logo and website; Summit to be held in Puri, Odisha from December 5–7, 2025, with focus on energy transition, innovation, and sustainability

New Delhi, November 13, 2025:The Minister of State for Power, Shripad Naik, launched the logo and official website of the Global Energy Leaders’ Summit (GELS) 2025 at an event held in New Delhi. The summit is scheduled to take place in Puri, Odisha, from December 5–7, 2025, hosted by the Government of Odisha in collaboration with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.

The event witnessed the presence of  Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha; Shri Vishal Dev, Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Odisha; Professor Anoop Singh from IIT Kanpur; and Shri Vivek Agarwal, Country Director (India), Tony Blair Institute.

Speaking at the launch, Naik said that GELS 2025 will mark the beginning of a transformative global dialogue on energy transition, climate leadership, and technology-driven transformation. He highlighted India’s rapid progress in power generation, renewable energy, transmission capacity, and digital modernization, positioning the country as one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets.

The Minister praised Odisha for its pioneering role in power sector reforms, becoming the first Indian state to implement such measures in the 1990s. He noted that Odisha continues to uphold principles of efficiency, sustainability, and resilience, aligning economic growth with environmental responsibility.

Referring to the theme of GELS 2025, “Powering India: Sufficiency, Balance, Innovation,” Shri Naik said it reflects the Prime Minister’s vision based on four key pillars—Energy Access, Efficiency, Sustainability, and Security. He reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to support GELS 2025 and expressed confidence that the summit would create a lasting platform for collaboration and innovation in the global energy space.

Naik extended his best wishes to the Government of Odisha, its Energy Department, and all partner organisations for the successful organisation of GELS 2025. He added that such collaborative initiatives play a critical role in advancing India’s Net-Zero 2070 goals and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under global climate commitments.
