New Delhi :Delhi Police, in collaboration with the Directorate of Education, GNCTD and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), organised a Virtual Awareness Session on Cyber Crime for teachers and school children today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Delhi from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM under the banner Cyber संवाद 2.0.

Lakhs of students and their teachers from over 1000 government and private schools joined the session in hybrid mode from their respective school locations. In addition, around 250 students and teachers from NDMC schools attended the programme in person at the Adarsh Auditorium, PHQ.
The session began with a welcome address by Sh. Sanjay Tyagi, IPS, PRO, Delhi Police, who expressed gratitude towards the Director, Directorate of Education, GNCTD of Delhi, Chairman, NDMC, and Director, I4C for their cooperation and support. Addressing the students, he urged them to remain vigilant while using social media platforms and advised parents and teachers to never hesitate in approaching authorities in cases of cyberbullying or online harassment.

A captivating Nukkad Natak performance on cybercrime awareness was presented by the Deep Group, effectively engaging the students on the importance of online safety.
It was followed by an informative training program by Sh. Manoj Kumar, ACP/IFSO, who briefed participants on the emerging cyber threats increasingly targeting children and the essential preventive measures they must adopt. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding one’s digital identity and elaborated on critical issues such as cyberbullying, cyberstalking, cyber grooming, and online job fraud. He further enlightened attendees about cyber slavery, digital arrest, associated dos and don’ts, and the warning signs that should prompt immediate caution.

Participants were advised to enable two-factor authentication, remain vigilant online, and take proactive cybersecurity actions. They were also informed about the National Cyber Helpline (1930) and the significance of the “golden hour” in reporting cyber crime incidents. The session concluded with responses to students’ queries.

Today’s session is part of the continuous efforts by Delhi Police to spread cyber awareness among vulnerable groups including school children. Recently, in another programme held by the SPUWAC Unit of Delhi Police, noted cyber expert Sh. Rakshit Tandon delivered an enlightening lecture to senior citizens on cyber safety.

In the first phase of Cyber संवाद, a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop was organised at Delhi Police Headquarters in collaboration with the Directorate of Education, GNCTD and I4C. During that workshop, around 350 teachers from various Delhi schools were trained on the modus operandi of cybercrimes and effective preventive strategies.
