Delhi Police Celebrates 150 Years of National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ with Patriotic Fervour

New Delhi, November 7: The Delhi Police today celebrated the 150th anniversary of India’s national song Vande Mataram with immense enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. To mark the occasion, mass singing events were organized across all districts and units of the Delhi Police, reaffirming their commitment to unity, integrity, and service to the nation.

A central event was held at the Delhi Police Headquarters, where senior officers and police personnel participated in the collective rendition of Vande Mataram in the presence of  Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi.

Simultaneously, police stations across the city hosted Vande Mataram singing events, inviting participation from both police personnel and local residents. Several community policing cells also conducted programs in schools, involving students in the patriotic celebrations.

Adding to the fervour, the Delhi Police Band and Orchestra performed Vande Mataram at prominent public locations across the national capital, spreading the spirit of nationalism and pride among citizens.

This year marks 150 years since the composition of Vande Mataram by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875. The iconic song, a symbol of India’s freedom struggle, continues to inspire generations with its enduring message of devotion to the motherland.
