Two Arrested in Delhi for ₹21.46 Lakh Online Investment Fraud Case

Delhi Police arrest two Rajasthan-based men Delhi in a cyber fraud case involving fake high-return investment schemes and prepaid task scams targeting a city resident.

New Delhi, March 23, 2026: Two individuals have been arrested by Delhi Police in connection with an online investment fraud case in which a resident of the national capital was allegedly cheated of ₹21.46 lakh through fake promises of high returns.

Police said the accused, identified as Narender (24) and Prem Prakash alias Lovely (38), both residents of Sikar district in Rajasthan, were apprehended after a detailed investigation into digital and financial transaction trails.

The victim was reportedly lured into investing money in an online scheme that promised lucrative returns through prepaid tasks and account verification processes.

Investigators found that the fraudsters repeatedly demanded additional payments under different pretexts, gradually increasing the financial loss suffered by the complainant.

An e-FIR was registered on November 13, 2025, at the Central District Cyber Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita after the complaint was filed.

Police traced a suspicious transaction of ₹3 lakh to a bank account in Sikar, which led them to question a local man who later revealed how the money had been routed.

During interrogation, it emerged that the funds were transferred through multiple intermediaries before reaching the main accused, with small commissions retained at each stage.

Narender was later arrested and is believed to have passed a portion of the money to Prem Prakash, who further transferred funds to another accused identified as Ankit.

Officials said Ankit and other associates involved in the network are currently being traced as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious of online investment offers promising unusually high returns and to verify platforms before transferring money.

Further investigation is underway to dismantle the wider cyber fraud network operating across multiple states.
