Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta pays obeisance at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

New Delhi, 5 November 2025 – On the auspicious occasion of the holy light festival marking the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj, the Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Vijender Gupta, paid obeisance at the sacred Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.

The Speaker sought blessings and participated in the prayers, expressing deep reverence for the eternal teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji that continue to guide humanity towards compassion, equality, and selfless service. Gupta also prayed for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Delhi, seeking divine blessings for harmony and collective progress in society.

The Speaker also visited a special exhibition organized at the Gurudwara, dedicated to the life and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. The exhibition featured rare archival photographs, manuscripts, and visual depictions of significant events from the Guru’s life, including his spiritual journeys, his teachings on equality, compassion, and honest living, and his efforts to unite humanity beyond divisions of caste, creed, and religion. Vijender Gupta keenly observed the displays and expressed admiration for the way the exhibition beautifully portrayed Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s invaluable contributions towards promoting peace, social harmony, and universal brotherhood.

Reflecting on his visit, the Speaker shared, “Bowing down at the holy Gurudwara Bangla Sahib was a deeply spiritual experience. The peace and purity of this sacred place inspire us to dedicate ourselves to the welfare of society and the nation. On this pious day, let us all pledge to uphold Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s ideals of unity, compassion, and universal brotherhood.”He further expressed that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji hold immense relevance in the present times, guiding humanity towards a path of harmony and righteousness. The Hon’ble Speaker noted that the spirit of selfless service and equality embodied in the Sikh faith continues to strengthen the moral fabric of our nation.

Vijender Gupta said, “Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s divine message of ‘Naam Japna, Kirat Karni, and Vand Chakna’ continues to illuminate the path of righteousness and humanity even today.
