Faridabad :D.A.V. Public School, NH-3 NIT Faridabad organised a 100-Havan Kund Yajna as part of a comprehensive drug de-addiction awareness programme aimed at countering the rapidly increasing menace of substance abuse in the country and sensitising society against it. The initiative was conducted to strengthen collective resolve against drugs and spread the message across the masses under the leadership of National President of Arya Yuva Samaj, Yogi Suri, who is taking significant steps to reach every household with this mission. The event’s chief guest was Faridabad Mayor, Parveen Batra Joshi. Other distinguished attendees included Councillor Manoj Naswa, Vrinda International School Founder Vijay Lakshmi, Arya Samaj representatives Suresh Gulati, Jagdish Virmani, Jitender Tayal, Goldy Malhotra, Vasant Bhatia, Vimla Madan, Santosh Taneja, Twinkle Play School Principal Rajni, Carry On Toddlers Rajvinder Kaur, Matrachhaya School Aanchal and Arshmeet. The programme began with the Gayatri Mantra and D.A.V. song, followed by a warm welcome to all guests by Principal Jyoti Dahiya, who greeted them with bouquets. Students and parents then participated in the Havan ceremony aimed at spreading awareness against drug addiction. The event also featured presentations including a rap song, dance performance and a street play highlighting how addiction ruins not just individuals but also families and obstructs the nation’s progress. Both children and parents participated enthusiastically and appreciated the school’s efforts. Students expressed through their performances that drug habits are a major threat to the country’s development, not just to households. Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Parveen Batra Joshi shed light on the social challenges arising due to addiction, emphasising that drugs are pushing youth towards darkness and destroying their future. She urged young people to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle. She also appealed to parents to remain observant of behavioural changes in their children and take responsibility for guiding them. The audience expressed gratitude with applause, acknowledging the meaningful message of the programme. In her closing remarks, Principal Jyoti Dahiya thanked the chief guest, dignitaries, parents, teachers and students, stating that drug awareness is not a one-day effort but a continuous process. She stressed that only through collective commitment can society shape the strong and progressive future of today’s children. The programme concluded with the Shanti Path.
