New Delhi— The BHASKAR platform (Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry), a key digital initiative by the Government of India under the Startup India mission, is fast becoming the backbone of India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. As of 30th June 2025, a total of 1,97,932 startups and related entities have registered on BHASKAR across various States and Union Territories, reflecting the growing momentum in India’s innovation-driven economy.
Developed to promote peer-to-peer interaction, ecosystem collaboration, and policy integration, BHASKAR is currently operating in its pilot phase. The platform is testing advanced features such as generation of personalized stakeholder IDs, microsite integration for scheme implementation, and startup partnerships, all aimed at streamlining government and private sector collaboration.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Jitin Prasada emphasized the significance of BHASKAR as a transformative tool for enabling real-time engagement between startups, incubators, accelerators, educational institutions, and government agencies.
Top performing states in BHASKAR registrations include:
The platform also witnessed enthusiastic participation from smaller states and UTs such as Goa (718), Chandigarh (678), and Assam (2021).
To ensure broad adoption, the Government is conducting state-level outreach programs, information sessions, and leveraging social media campaigns in coordination with State Startup Nodal Agencies and ecosystem partners. These initiatives are targeting small and micro-enterprises, with a focus on understanding user needs and refining the platform accordingly.
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav spirit continues to guide such innovation-driven policy frameworks, empowering entrepreneurs and driving economic growth from the grassroots to the global level.
