New Delhi: A 21-year-old woman was found dead at her residence in Kailash Hills on Wednesday morning, prompting a police investigation into suspected foul play. According to officials, a call was received by the Police Control Room around 9 am, after which teams rushed to the location and discovered the woman lying inside the house.
The deceased, reported to be the daughter of a government official, was alone at the time of the incident. Her body has been sent for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause and timing of death. Preliminary findings indicate possible strangulation, though officials said a final conclusion will depend on the medical report.
Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of sexual assault and are awaiting detailed forensic analysis to establish the sequence of events. Crime scene experts have collected evidence from the residence, and nearby CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify any suspicious activity.
Police sources said that a former domestic help is under suspicion, and efforts are underway to locate and question him. Multiple teams have been deployed to trace the individual as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities said further details will emerge once the postmortem and forensic reports are completed, and the case remains under active probe.
