Tehran/Tel Aviv, March 6: Multiple explosions were reported across several Iranian cities on Friday as Israel launched a fresh wave of airstrikes, further escalating the ongoing war involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. Witnesses in Tehran said powerful blasts shook buildings and were heard across different parts of the capital as bombardments intensified overnight.
According to reports, Israeli fighter jets carried out heavy strikes on targets in Tehran and other Iranian cities, hitting military and government-linked facilities as part of the continuing offensive that began late February.
Residents reported that the explosions were among the strongest since the conflict began, with several strikes hitting eastern and southeastern parts of Tehran. The attacks are believed to be targeting Iran’s missile infrastructure, air-defense systems, and military installations.
US forces are also involved in operations, with the American military confirming strikes on Iranian naval assets, including a drone carrier at sea.
The war has rapidly expanded beyond Iran and Israel, affecting several countries across the Middle East. Iranian retaliatory missile and drone attacks have targeted US bases and allied nations in the Gulf, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
The conflict, which began with coordinated US-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets in late February, has already caused heavy casualties and infrastructure damage across the region.
Reports indicate the death toll from the ongoing bombardments has climbed sharply, with over 1,200 people reported killed in Iran, alongside casualties in Israel and neighbouring countries affected by missile strikes.
Military analysts warn that the conflict could escalate further as Israel prepares additional phases of attacks targeting Iran’s underground missile facilities, while Tehran continues to launch retaliatory strikes.
The situation remains volatile, with fears that the fighting could widen into a broader regional war involving multiple countries in the Middle East.
