Delhi Public School Ballabgarh Hosts Tree Plantation Drive in Support of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Campaign

On Saturday, July 20, 2024, Delhi Public School Ballabgarh held a significant tree plantation drive in support of the Central Government’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. This initiative aims to honor motherhood by encouraging the planting of trees. The event saw the gracious presence of prominent personalities, including Shri Nivasan Kotni, Co-Founder and General Secretary of Bharatiyam, Anil Gupta, Co-Founder of Bharatiyam, S.S. Josan, Retired Assistant Commissioner, Ministry of Finance and Plant Expert, and Bhanu Pratap Tiwari, Member of Bharatiyam. The school’s Pro Vice Chairman, S.P. Lall, also graced the occasion.

The event commenced with a melodious welcome song performed by the young students, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day. Following this, Pro Vice Chairman S.P. Lall and Principal Dr. Arti honored the esteemed guests with mementoes, expressing gratitude for their presence and contributions. The guests then addressed the gathering, sharing valuable insights on the importance of trees and environmental conservation with the parents and students.

The highlight of the program was the planting of two revered Kalpa trees by the distinguished guests. Known for their longevity, with an age exceeding 2500 years, these trees captivated the attendees, especially the parents who were eager to witness this momentous occasion. In alignment with the “One tree in the name of mother” campaign, the invited parents also participated in planting trees within the school premises, fostering a deep sense of community and responsibility. The students, inspired by the day’s events, pledged to care for the newly planted trees, ensuring their growth and well-being.
