Sensex up 128.33 pts

Mumbai, May 2 , 2024 : The BSE Sensex on Thursday rose 128.33 pts to close at 74611.11 as buying was seen in Utilities, Power, Auto and BSE services stocks. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 43.35 pts at 22,648.20. The Sensex fell 91 pts to open at 74391.73. It was further declined by 122 pts at 74360.69, days low. In late trade it was recovered and ended at 74611.12, advancing 128.33 pts from its last close. The NSE registered days high and low at 22,710.50 and 22,567.85 pts respectively. The stocks that liftec the market were Utilities by 1.49 pc, Power by 1.47 pc, Auto by 1.17 pc and BSE services by 1.24 pc. In 30 scrips, 18 advanced while 12 declined. The gainers were Powergrid by 3.91 pc to Rs 313.45, Asian Paints by 3.36 pc to Rs 2973.80, Tata Motors by 1.99 pc to Rs 1027.95, NTPC by 1.72 pc to Rs 369.35 and Tata Steel by 1.45 pc to Rs167.35.The losers were Kotak Bank by 2.95 pc to Rs 1575.80, Axis bank by 1.41 pc to Rs 1149.75, Bharti Airtel by 1.26 pc to Rs 1306.15 and Wipro by 1.09 pc to Rs 457.25.
