The Impressive TimesNew Delhi : On 14.10.2026, at about 08:00 PM, a firing incident at E-Block, Janta Mazdoor Colony, Delhi, was received at PS Welcome.
During enquiry, the complainant, lady (23 years), D/o Abdul Qureshi, R/o E-Block, Janta Mazdoor Colony, stated that she had married Mohd. Faizan 3–4 months ago. Owing to frequent quarrels with her husband after marriage, she had been residing at her parental home for the past 10–12 days.
Today, her husband, Mohd. Faizan @ Fazi, called her to the gate of her parental house and started quarrelling with her over the issue of her returning to his house. He allegedly threatened to kill her and fired a shot at her using a country-made pistol (desi katta). The complainant managed to escape by running inside the house. Fortunately, no one sustained any injury in the incident.
Accordingly, a case under Section 109 of the BNS and the relevant provisions of the Arms Act was registered at PS Welcome.
A dedicated team led by Insp. Rupesh Khatri, SHO/PS Welcome, under the supervision of ACP/Bhajanpura, made diligent efforts and, based on clues gathered from various sources, apprehended the accused within a short span of time. The accused was identified as Mohd. Faizan @ Fazi (24 years), S/o Naseem Ahmed, R/o Johripur, Delhi. One country-made pistol (desi katta), two live cartridges and one TVS NTORQ scooty were recovered from the possession of the accused. On detailed verification, he was previously found involved in three cases related to murder, trespassing and Arms Act.
