Indian Railway Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (IRPGIMSR) & AIIMS Sign MoU to Strengthen Medical Education and Patient Care

The MoU brings together the expertise and capabilities of both institutions to promote knowledge and skill enhancement.

New Delhi : In a landmark initiative to strengthen medical education, training and patient care, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and the Indian Railway Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (IRPGIMSR), along with its associated Northern Railway Central Hospital (NRCH), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today. The collaboration will focus on training, skill development and technology transfer.

AIIMS, New Delhi, is the apex medical teaching, training and healthcare institution of the country, while IRPGIMSR, along with NRCH, is the first and only apex National Medical Commission (NMC)-recognised teaching institute of Indian Railways. The MoU brings together the expertise and capabilities of both institutions to promote knowledge and skill enhancement.

The collaboration is expected to have far-reaching benefits for medical education and patient care. It will enable better and optimised utilisation of resources and expertise of both institutions without any financial burden on either of them.

The partnership will provide opportunities for doctors to enhance their clinical and technical skills, thereby supporting improved teaching and training for students and better patient care for beneficiaries of the Railway healthcare system.
