500 NCC Cadets Complete Self-Defence Training Programme in Delhi

500 NCC cadets complete six-day self-defence training focused on personal safety, situational awareness and emergency response.

New Delhi- Around 500 NCC cadets completed a six-day Self-Defence Techniques Training Programme organised by the Special Police Unit for Women & Children (SPUWAC), Delhi Police, at NCC Headquarters, C NCC Building, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi.

The training programme was conducted from October 1 to 6 with the objective of promoting safety, confidence, situational awareness and self-reliance among young cadets. The programme was organised under the guidance of Vivek Kishore, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, SPUWAC & Licensing.


A team of three police personnel from SPUWAC conducted the training and provided the cadets with practical techniques aimed at helping them respond effectively during emergency and challenging situations.

The sessions focused on personal safety, preventive measures, awareness of surroundings and appropriate responses in difficult circumstances. The cadets were also sensitised to the importance of remaining alert and adopting a safety-oriented approach in their daily lives.

During the closing ceremony, participating cadets demonstrated the self-defence techniques they had learnt during the programme. Their demonstrations reflected the confidence and preparedness developed through the training.

The programme received positive feedback from the participating cadets, who appreciated the practical nature of the sessions.

SPUWAC, Delhi Police, said it remains committed to empowering women, girls and young citizens through self-defence training, safety awareness and community outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening a culture of safety and self-reliance in society.
