New Delhi, September 2, 2026 : Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has praised the surprise box-office success of Hanuman Ansh, describing the film as a “satsang” rather than just a movie and urging audiences to watch it in theatres.
Kangana shared a picture of Neem Karoli Baba on Instagram on Wednesday while recommending the Vishal Chaturvedi-directed film. She wrote that Hanuman Ansh is “not a movie” but a satsang featuring stories of people who had first-hand experiences with Neem Karoli Baba.
Her post came as the low-budget film continues its strong theatrical run despite having no major star in its cast or large-scale promotional campaign.
Hanuman Ansh turns into a box-office surprise
Made on a reported budget of around ₹2 crore, Hanuman Ansh had a modest beginning at the box office. The film earned around ₹10 lakh on its opening day and collected approximately ₹1.48 crore during its first two weeks.
The film’s fortunes changed dramatically in its third week, driven by positive word of mouth. On its 17th day, it reportedly collected ₹2.20 crore, while its highest single-day collection came on day 24 with ₹12.75 crore.
On its fourth Tuesday, the film reportedly earned ₹8.50 crore in a single day, even surpassing the day’s collection of Yash-starrer Toxic.
According to the figures cited in the report, Hanuman Ansh has now earned around ₹54.13 crore net in India, turning the small-budget release into one of the year’s notable box-office success stories.
Madhur Bhandarkar also praises the film
Before Kangana Ranaut, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also praised Hanuman Ansh and its success. He described the film as an example of how strong storytelling and conviction can overcome the limitations of a small budget and a non-star cast.
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is based on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj-ji. The film stars Shobhinaw Satyaa, Chandan Anand, Purnima Tiwari and Vihaan Shedge in key roles.
The story follows a grieving boy searching for God after losing his mother and his eventual journey towards discovering the divine through service, love and compassion.
