The Impressive TimesNew Delhi, August 24, 2026(Pratibha Mehra): The ten-day Teejotsav Craft and Food Fair 2026, organised at Bikaner House, New Delhi, concluded on Monday with great enthusiasm. Artisans, handicraft artists and performers from different regions of Rajasthan participated in the festival, while food stalls and craft outlets recorded sales of more than Rs 1.30 crore, marking a record for the event.
Principal Resident Commissioner Rohit Kumar congratulated the artisans on the record sales and said that the festival witnessed a strong turnout from the very first day. Visitors enjoyed a wide range of products created by Rajasthan’s handicraft artists, traditional cuisine, cultural evenings and traditional sporting activities.
RUDA Adviser Om Prakash said that 25 stalls featuring Rajasthani handicrafts and traditional apparel were set up by RUDA. The products displayed at these stalls received an enthusiastic response from visitors, resulting in record sales compared to previous editions of the ten-day festival.
Anupama Saxena of Rajeevika said that 15 stalls were set up by women artisans associated with self-help groups who came to Delhi through Rajeevika. Visitors showed keen interest in hand-block bedsheets, suits, sarees, bangles and jewellery, mojris, lac products, leather goods and traditional Rajasthani food items, leading to strong sales.
The festival also featured Saras dairy products, which were well received by visitors, with purchases exceeding Rs 3 lakh. Traditional dairy products and sweets from various district milk unions, including Alwar kalakand, Bikaner rasgullas, gulab jamuns, cow ghee, buttermilk, lassi, paneer and shrikhand, proved particularly popular.
Joint Resident Commissioner Rinku Meena said that the festival was visited by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, MP Bhagirath Chaudhary, the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan and senior officers from the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service, besides several senior officials of the Central and State governments. They were welcomed by Principal Resident Commissioner Rohit Kumar and appreciated the festival as a vibrant showcase of Rajasthan’s rich art and cultural heritage.
The Teejotsav began on August 15 with Principal Resident Commissioner Rohit Kumar inaugurating the festival by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The Teej Mata procession, performances by renowned Rajasthani folk artist Kutle Khan featuring Sufi and Rajasthani folk songs, and cultural performances by folk artists from different regions of Rajasthan remained among the major attractions of the festival.
