Selena Gomez and Mandy Teefey face legal action from investors alleging they were misled about Wondermind’s business condition.
Selena Gomez and Mandy Teefey face lawsuit over alleged Wondermind investment misrepresentations.

Washington, August 14, 2026; Singer and actor Selena Gomez and her mother, Mandy Teefey, have been named in a lawsuit filed by two companies accusing them of misleading investors over the financial condition and business prospects of mental health venture Wondermind Global.

The case, filed by Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, also names Wondermind Global and former business partner Daniella Pierson as defendants. The investors allege that they put more than USD 1 million into the company after receiving assurances about its leadership, infrastructure and ability to develop a commercially successful platform.

According to the lawsuit, the investors were encouraged by Gomez’s public promotion of Wondermind and her appearances discussing the venture. They allege that her involvement in the business was presented as more substantial than it ultimately proved to be after their investment.

The companies have also accused Pierson of making misleading claims about her earlier entrepreneurial achievements and the potential financial returns from the investment.

The investors further allege that they were not informed about serious problems within Wondermind as the company’s financial and operational situation worsened. They claim they learned about the extent of the difficulties after a September 2025 report by The Cut examined the company’s internal operations.

That report, referenced in the lawsuit, included allegations concerning management practices, company finances and difficulties in meeting routine business obligations, including payments to employees and vendors.

The legal filing also refers to allegations involving Teefey’s personal conduct and Gomez’s role in the company. Teefey has previously rejected allegations concerning substance abuse and disputed claims that Wondermind was in disarray.

Teefey reportedly attributed the accusations to disgruntled former employees and criticised media coverage of the claims.

The investors allege that when they questioned Teefey about the issues raised publicly, responsibility was placed on Pierson, who had already departed from the company.

The plaintiffs are pursuing claims including securities fraud and are seeking the recovery of their investments along with additional damages. The allegations have not been established in court, and the defendants will have an opportunity to respond to the claims.

Wondermind was launched as a mental health-focused platform aimed at encouraging conversations around emotional wellbeing and mental health.
