Bihar Emerges as Textile Investment Hub, Signs ₹1,476 Crore MoUs at Bharat Tex 2026

Bihar shines at Bharat Tex 2026 as 16 companies sign ₹1,476 crore MoUs, creating over 40,500 jobs and boosting textile investment.

New Delhi/PatnaBharat Tex 2026, India’s largest global textile event, commenced today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and will continue until 17 July 2026. The event was inaugurated by  Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh in the presence of Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita, Secretary (Textiles)  Neelam Shami Rao, Industries Secretary  Kundan Kumar and other senior officials, marking the beginning of four days of innovation, collaboration and global textile excellence. On the very first day of the event, investors signed MoUs worth over ₹1,400 crore with the Government of Bihar.

Participating as the Partner State, Bihar showcased its growing strength in the textile and apparel sector with the inauguration of the Bihar Pavilion at Hall 11A by Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh & Industries Minister  Shreyasi Singh in the presence of Kundan Kumar, Secretary, Industries Dept, Govt of Bihar , Manoj kumar singh, Resident Commissioner, Bihar Bhawan, Dr. Bidya Nand Singh, Directorate of Handloom and Sericulture and Director of Industries Mukul Kumar Gupta.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that Bihar is rapidly emerging as one of India’s promising textile hubs. He noted that the Bihar Government has developed modern industrial infrastructure, including plug-and-play facilities, which has significantly enhanced investor confidence in the state.


Speaking on the occasion, Industries Minister  Shreyasi Singh said that Bihar is rapidly emerging as one of India’s most promising destinations for textile and apparel manufacturing. She stated that the State Government’s progressive industrial policies, investor-friendly ecosystem and strong focus on traditional crafts are creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs, artisans and global investors. She added that Bharat Tex 2026 provides an ideal platform to showcase Bihar’s manufacturing capabilities and rich textile heritage to the world.
Industries Secretary Kundan Kumar said that the Bihar Pavilion reflects the state’s commitment to promoting its traditional crafts alongside modern industrial growth. He noted that the participation of Bihar’s enterprises at Bharat Tex 2026 will strengthen market access, enhance business linkages and create new opportunities for the state’s textile ecosystem.

During the Knowledge Session at Bharat Tex 2026, the Government of Bihar signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with 16 leading textile and apparel companies, reinforcing the state’s growing reputation as an emerging textile investment destination. These MoUs represent a proposed investment of ₹1,476 crore and are expected to generate more than 40,500 employment opportunities, giving significant momentum to Bihar’s textile industry while contributing substantially to industrial growth and job creation in the state.

The Bihar Pavilion features leading exhibitors from across the state, including SAVI Global, Gramin Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Sangh, Gopalan Silk, Eco Tasar Silk Pvt. Ltd., High Spirit Commercial Ventures Pvt. Ltd. (HSCVPL), New Zeel Fashion Wear Pvt. Ltd., Earthomadic Foundation, Competence Exports Pvt. Ltd., NIFT Patna, Modelama Group, alongside live demonstrations of Madhubani and Tikuli painting by master artists Kumari Nalini Shah & Arundhati Mahato.

Open until 17 July 2026, the Bihar Pavilion offers visitors, buyers and investors a comprehensive glimpse of Bihar’s textile heritage, industrial capabilities, investment opportunities and the vision of “Bihar Hai Taiyar.”
