Ananthapuramu, July 1, 2026: The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, graced the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh, marking a historic milestone for the young institution. She described the occasion as not only a celebration but also a defining step in the university’s journey toward academic excellence.
Addressing the gathering, the President highlighted the university’s long-term vision to become a future-ready institution aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly quality education and inclusive development. She expressed confidence that the university will emerge as a centre of excellence contributing significantly to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Speaking to graduating students, she said convocation marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. She noted that students are shaped not only by their efforts but also by the sacrifices of parents, guidance of teachers, and support of society, urging them to give back meaningfully.
The President emphasized that graduates must use their knowledge as a tool for social good—whether as entrepreneurs, scientists, public servants, or philanthropists. She stressed the importance of continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technological world and encouraged students to adapt, innovate, and explore new ideas throughout life.
Highlighting core values, she said honesty, compassion, empathy, and respect for nature form the foundation of holistic development. She added that India’s youth are its greatest asset and must combine knowledge with responsibility to transform challenges into opportunities.
Concluding her address, the President said the vision of Viksit Bharat can be achieved only through the energy, talent, and integrity of the nation’s youth committed to excellence.
