NEW DELHI, 30 JUNE2026: A Pipping Ceremony was organised today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, New Delhi, where 179 retiring Delhi Police personnel were conferred honorary ranks under the Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme.

The ceremony was presided over by Shri Rajesh Khurana, IPS, Spl. CP/P&FD, who, along with senior officers, ceremonially conferred the next higher honorary ranks upon the retiring personnel, ranging from Head Constable to Sub-Inspector.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Rajesh Khurana, IPS, Spl. CP/P&FD , congratulated the retiring personnel and their family members on the occasion. He acknowledged their dedicated service and invaluable contribution to Delhi Police over the years.

Speaking further, he observed that in a service like the police, personnel spend a major part of their lives with their colleague, often even more time than with their own families, while performing law and order duties, conducting investigations, and discharging other important responsibilities at police stations and in the field. In this context, the term “Delhi Police Family” is not merely a phrase, but a reflection of the deep sense of camaraderie.

Extending his best wishes to the retiring personnel, the Chief Guest wished them a healthy, happy, and prosperous post-retirement life and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to extending all possible assistance to them whenever needed.

The honorary rank promotions were conferred upon 179 retiring personnel, including 11 Head Constables promoted to the honorary rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector, 48 Assistant Sub-Inspectors promoted to the honorary rank of Sub-Inspector, and 120 Sub-Inspectors promoted to the honorary rank of Inspector.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers of Delhi Police, the retiring personnel, and their family members, making it a memorable occasion.
