Vijay Government Sets Vision for New Tamil Nadu in Assembly Debut

C. Joseph Vijay delivered his first speech in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Tuesday in Chennai after officially assuming office as the Chief Minister. In his maiden address to legislators, the Chief Minister highlighted the priorities of his newly formed government, focusing on clean administration, public welfare schemes, opportunities for youth and transparent governance.

Calling for unity among all political parties, Mr. Vijay appealed to members across the Assembly to work together for the progress of Tamil Nadu. He stated that his administration would give importance to development-oriented policies while ensuring accountability and efficient delivery of government services to the people.

The Assembly session also witnessed key constitutional proceedings. TVK legislator J.C.D. Prabhakar was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly. Soon after taking charge, the new Speaker supervised the Deputy Speaker election, where Ravishankar secured victory unopposed.

The developments marked an important beginning for the new government as the ruling party formally assumed control of the Assembly proceedings. Political observers see the session as the start of a new chapter in Tamil Nadu politics under Vijay’s leadership.
