New Delhi, April 13, 2026: The National Health Authority has invited innovators from across the country to participate in the AB PM JAY Auto Adjudication Hackathon 2026, an initiative aimed at strengthening digital healthcare systems under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The programme seeks advanced technology driven solutions to streamline claim settlements and enhance efficiency in the system.
With nearly fifty thousand claims processed daily across a wide range of treatment packages, the need for faster and more accurate claim handling has become crucial. At present, only a portion of claims are processed automatically, highlighting the demand for scalable and intelligent systems that can manage diverse medical cases and documentation.
The hackathon aims to encourage participants to design solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing platforms, reduce dependency on manual work and ensure quicker claim approvals. Technologies such as automation, artificial intelligence based fraud detection and real time verification are expected to play a key role in improving transparency and consistency.
The initiative has already drawn strong interest, with more than twenty six hundred participants registering from different parts of the country. Students, developers, researchers, startups and professionals have been invited to contribute innovative ideas before the registration deadline.
To guide participants, a three part masterclass series will begin from April 13, offering insights into the claim adjudication process and potential solution pathways. These sessions are designed to help participants better understand the challenges and expectations of the competition.
The event will conclude with a final round scheduled in May at the Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru, where shortlisted teams will present their ideas before a panel of experts from healthcare, technology and public policy. Winners will be awarded cash prizes and may also receive opportunities for collaboration.
Through this initiative, the authority aims to promote innovation in digital health systems, ensuring improved service delivery, greater transparency and better outcomes for beneficiaries across the country.
