Delhi Traffic Police Holds ‘Project Sangam’ Public Interaction in Eastern Range to Improve Traffic Management

New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police’s Eastern Range organised a Police–Public Interactive Meeting under “Project Sangam” on April 11, 2026, aimed at strengthening coordination with citizens and addressing grassroots traffic concerns.

The meeting was attended by DCP Traffic Eastern Range Sh. K. Ramesh, along with ACP Traffic Shahdara, ACP Traffic North-East, and Traffic Inspectors (TIs) of the Eastern Range. Members of various Market Welfare Associations (MWAs) and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) from across the region participated actively in the interaction.

The primary focus of the session was to enhance collaboration between the police and the public to tackle issues such as traffic congestion, parking challenges, road safety, encroachments, and vehicular movement in local areas. Participants shared feedback and practical suggestions based on their day-to-day experiences.

Officials emphasised the importance of community participation in improving traffic discipline and ensuring smoother traffic flow. The DCP Traffic assured attendees that all genuine concerns raised during the meeting would be examined on priority, with coordinated action to be taken alongside relevant agencies.

Key focus areas discussed included ensuring smooth traffic flow at major congestion points, promoting road safety awareness, strengthening enforcement against violations, and addressing illegal parking and encroachments.

As part of the outreach initiative, a Nukkad Natak (street play) was performed to spread awareness about road safety and responsible citizen behaviour. The performance received an encouraging response and added an engaging dimension to the programme.

Participants appreciated the proactive initiative by the Delhi Traffic Police and expressed their willingness to cooperate in maintaining better traffic conditions in their respective areas.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the commitment of the Delhi Traffic Police towards public-centric policing, safer roads, and efficient traffic management.
