Accord Superspeciality Hospital Conducts Stroke Awareness Seminar at Shahi Export Company, Faridabad

Around 60 women employees educated on symptoms, ‘golden hour’ treatment and healthy lifestyle practices

Faridabad: An awareness programme on stroke prevention was organised by Accord Superspeciality Hospital at Shahi Export Company in Sector-86, Greater Faridabad. The seminar aimed to educate people about stroke symptoms, prevention and the importance of timely treatment. Chairman of the Neurology Department, Dr. Rohit Gupta, attended the programme as the chief guest. Addressing the employees, especially women, he said stroke is a serious condition but timely action can save lives. Around 60 women were given detailed training on stroke prevention and management during the session.

Dr. Rohit Gupta explained that a crooked face, difficulty in speaking and sudden weakness in the arms or legs are major symptoms of a stroke. He advised that if such signs appear, the patient should be taken to the nearest hospital immediately.

Highlighting the importance of the “golden hour”, he said treatment in the initial hours can save the patient’s life and prevent permanent damage. He also advised people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, undergo regular health check-ups and maintain a balanced diet. Stressing prevention, he said blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol should be kept under control. At the end of the programme, participants interacted with the doctor and cleared their doubts. Dr. Rohit Gupta said such programmes help raise awareness about serious diseases so that people can seek timely treatment and save lives.
