Investment proposals worth ₹1 lakh crore received in Singapore, MoUs worth ₹60 thousand crore signed: CM Yogi

Chief Minister says UP taking decisive steps towards the target of a 1 trillion dollar economy by 2029-30

Singapore/Lucknow, 24 February : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is on a visit to Singapore with the goal of making Uttar Pradesh a 1 trillion dollar economy by the year 2029-30, stated that Team UP has received investment proposals worth approximately ₹1 lakh crore in Singapore, out of which MoUs worth ₹60 thousand crore have already been concluded by Invest UP.

He expressed confidence that this investment will prove to be a milestone in the direction of making the state a 1 trillion dollar economy. The Chief Minister said that the world today has become completely transparent. Investors are aware of every activity taking place in Uttar Pradesh. This is the reason why the state has received such significant investment in a short period of time.

While interacting with media personnel, the Chief Minister said, “A large delegation has accompanied him on the visit to Singapore and Japan. After reaching Singapore, meetings continued from 8:30 am until late at night, and programs continued from early morning on the second day as well”.

He added, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made remarkable progress in various sectors of holistic development over the past 11 years. Carrying forward the same vision, UP has witnessed rapid growth in infrastructure, logistics, service sector and public welfare over the past 8.5 to 9 years. Today India and Uttar Pradesh are being viewed in an extremely positive light at the global level”.

The Chief Minister stated, over the past 2 days he met more than 100 representatives. He held positive and meaningful discussions with the President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister and Energy Minister of Singapore. In addition, meetings were held with chairpersons and CEOs of major fintech companies. Several companies are already investing in India and Uttar Pradesh.

CM Yogi mentioned that some companies have already invested in the Ganga Expressway, which is being developed as the country’s longest expressway. He said that there has been a 360 degree positive transformation in investors’ perception towards Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Minister said, “The delegation also visited highly advanced facilities where general public access is restricted. In particular, Singapore’s expertise was studied for developing cargo facilities and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhauling) in association with the soon to be operational Noida International Airport at Jewar”.

CM Yogi stated that currently many aircraft from India and across the world come to Singapore for their MRO work. Such a facility can be developed in India, especially at Jewar. Investors have made serious preparations on this subject and are ready to take forward the possibilities with Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Minister also informed, the delegation also visited Singapore’s world class skilling centre (ITE). He stated that he is pleased that the action initiated in Uttar Pradesh to convert scale into skilling in every district and to link skilling with employment through the development of the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment Zone has a similar model here. The CM expressed hope that this program will be advanced further in collaboration with this centre.

The Chief Minister appreciated Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, and all members and officials of the delegation who have been actively engaged in continuous meetings. He also expressed special gratitude to the Indian High Commissioner and his team, who played an important role in effectively presenting Uttar Pradesh’s potential in sectors such as trade, technology, tourism, logistics, infrastructure, data centre, semiconductor, MRO and skilling.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the investment agreements signed and proposals received in Singapore will accelerate Uttar Pradesh’s progress towards achieving the target of a 1 trillion dollar economy.
