Kolkata, March 14, 2024– West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sustained major injuries in an accident, as reported by the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The TMC shared images of the CM lying in a hospital bed, depicting a deep cut in the middle of her forehead and blood on her face.
The incident occurred at her residence in Kalighat, South Kolkata, shortly after her return from a program. The 69-year-old leader was immediately admitted to the Woodburn Ward of the state-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.
Her brother, Kartik Banerjee, informed a Bengali news channel that she fell inside her home and required stitches due to bleeding from the forehead.
TMC’s national general secretary and Mamata’s nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, facilitated her admission to the hospital.
Various political figures, including West Bengal State BJP President Sukanta Majumdar, expressed their wishes for Mamata Banerjee’s speedy recovery. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also conveyed their concerns and wished her a swift recovery.
