New Delhi : Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, paid rich floral tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on the occasion of the 70th Mahaparinirvan Diwas at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, on Friday.
In a post shared on X, the Minister offered heartfelt salutations to Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar, calling him the eternal guiding light of equality and justice. He remembered Babasaheb as the visionary who laid the foundation for a just and inclusive India through his unparalleled contributions to the Constitution.

The tribute ceremony was attended by Railway Board Chairman & CEO Satish Kumar, senior Railway Board officials, and representatives from the All India SC/ST Railway Employees Association. The gathering reflected on Dr. Ambedkar’s philosophy and his lifelong fight for social justice, fairness, and human dignity.
Mahaparinirvan Diwas is observed every year on December 6, marking the death anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar — a national icon who dedicated his life to uplifting marginalized communities, including Dalits, women, and labourers. Born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Ambedkar’s tireless efforts toward eradicating social discrimination continue to inspire millions across India.

On this solemn day, people across the country pay homage to his invaluable legacy and reaffirm their commitment to building an egalitarian society rooted in the principles he championed.
