NEW DELHI, 18 JUNE: 2010 batch Civil Services Officer, Sh Samrat Bandopadhyay, has been setting new benchmarks and standards of quality of work with passage of time. Undoubtedly, the 9th rank holder in Engineering; Semester Topper in MBA; Overall Topper in LL.B. (CGPA 8.82/10) from IIT Kharagpur, Sh Samrat has always liked to set records as his passion and ensemble of his constant dedication and discipline. He had been DG Rolling Shield winner of his foundation course in his induction to Civil Services of Govt of India at MCRHRD, way back in 2010. From then, he has never looked back … the Success is contagious as they say, is truly exemplified by his constructive efforts.
NPTEL back to back “Megastar” Certified Scholar
Sh Samrat has been setting new records in his sphere of activity, latest being his back to back NPTEL “Megastar” awardee, being topper in numero uno position in Ministry of Education learning platform having topper 12 out of 12 courses in the Semester January to April 2025. Pertinently, he holds the unprecedented achievement of topping 32 out of 33 courses being offered by consortium of IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and IISc (Indian Institute of Science). The careful and quintessential selection of varied subjects inter alia from Law, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, Psychology, Economics, Statistics and Marketing Research sets him a class apart as being the first civil servant, as he likes himself to be called, inspired by none other than PM Shri Narendra Modi, to top back to back this award of NPTEL, under aegis of IIT Madras; makes, him to top among 9 “Megastars” in this semester along with topping in augural award ceremony among 3 “Megastars” at the top-ranked AICTE engineering institute as be NIRF ranking.
Tops in IGoT Karmayogi 12 times in a row
Sh Samrat’s quest for knowledge has enabled him to top in IGoT Karmayogi platform 12 times in a row including the latest being in number 1 position in his work place Ministry of I&B. Seeing his curiosity and paramount dedication, he was nominated for coveted “Lead Trainer” initiative of Government in “Rashtriya Karmayogi”. He has successfully completed his course, as he was among the two nominated officers of his Ministry.
Development of UI/UX development of IGoT Karmayogi platform
Being a Information Science and Engineering Graduate and a MBA post graduate with Information System as his specialization, Sh Samrat has been always eager to “Contribute to Skilled and vital development of Information Technology landscape” with the latest being the software system design and user interface development of IGoT learning platform. He has been recognized for his effort with certificate of appreciation.
Passion to spread awareness of learning among fraternity
Sh Samrat emphatically “walks the talk” with his energetic and enthusiastic motivation for his broader Civil Services fraternity via numerous platform including new age social media. Awardee by none other that the Hon’ble Union MoS Dr L Murgan has recognized his charismatic fervour to inspire and further, picked by Capacity Building Commission, as he says that, “Learning has to be imbibed as a culture and ethos in institutional setup”. He quotes Swami Vivekananda, “Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man”.
Certified in “Film Appreciation Course”
Sh Samrat recently completed the FTII and IIMC collaborated course in “Film Appreciation Course”. With this, his participation surely going to augment his passion to learning and more quintessential “bringing learning to action with practical implementation”; the focal emphasis is for serving his mother land with “public interest”, which he proudly reckons.
