Haryana State Women Commission Chairperson Visits Faridabad District Jail

Faridabad: Chairperson of the Haryana State Women Commission, Renu Bhatia, visited the District Jail located in Neemka, Faridabad, on Monday. During her visit, she inspected the women’s ward and interacted with the female inmates residing there.

During the inspection, Mrs. Bhatia inquired about the inmates’ living conditions, food quality, healthcare services, and other basic facilities. She attentively listened to their grievances and assured them of addressing their concerns.

She also made the women aware of their legal rights, emphasizing that they should remain informed and make proper use of their rights even while in custody.

Encouraging the inmates, Mrs. Bhatia urged them to participate in creative and constructive activities during their time in prison. She advised them to take a positive path in life and, upon completing their sentences, pursue respectable livelihoods through jobs or self-employment to reintegrate into society with dignity.

Additionally, Mrs. Bhatia directed jail officials to ensure strict security arrangements in the women’s ward.

Deputy Jail Superintendent Sumit Panwar informed the commission that there are currently 96 female inmates in Faridabad District Jail, out of which 89 are under trial.

Also present during the visit were Deputy Jail Superintendents Sachin Kaushik and Vikram Gill, SHO of Women’s Police Station Ballabhgarh, Sunita, and other officials and staff members.
