New Delhi, Jan 29, 2025: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, currently on a visit to the UAE, met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday and extended the warm greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a post on X, Jaishankar expressed his honor in meeting the UAE President and noted their discussions focused on the continued advancement of the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. “Honoured to call on HH @MohamedBinZayed. Conveyed the warm regards of PM @narendramodi. Discussed the ongoing progress in our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Value his insights for its future growth,” Jaishankar wrote.
A UAE official statement provided additional details about the meeting, which took place at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. Jaishankar conveyed Prime Minister Modi’s greetings and expressed best wishes for the continued prosperity of the UAE. In response, President Sheikh Mohamed extended his regards to Prime Minister Modi, wishing India and its people further growth and success.
The meeting covered several aspects of the evolving bilateral relationship between India and the UAE. These included discussions on the progress of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership, as well as opportunities to further enhance cooperation. Additionally, regional and international issues of mutual concern were addressed during the talks.
The meeting was attended by a number of high-ranking officials, including Mansour bin Zayed, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Abdullah bin Zayed, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, among other ministers and key figures.
Earlier, Jaishankar had a discussion with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, during which the two leaders reviewed the longstanding friendship and strategic ties between the two nations. They also explored ways to strengthen collaboration across various sectors, including economic, commercial, investment, and cultural exchange. The leaders also exchanged perspectives on several key regional and global developments.
Jaishankar also met with Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, where the focus was again on enhancing bilateral relations. The discussions underscored the commitment of both countries to deepen cooperation and serve mutual interests in various domains, as noted in a post by the UAE’s side on X.
