Students’ favourite Manish Uncle celebrates Children’s Day amongst young minds of Delhi Govt School

Former Education Minister Manish Sisodia visits School of Specialised Excellence, Andrews Ganj; motivates students to dream big and pursue their ambitions

NEW DELHI, November 14- In a heartwarming gesture, former Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia visited School of Specialised Excellence in Performing & Visual Arts (SoSE-PVA), Andrews Ganj, joining students and teachers in commemorating Children’s Day. Known affectionately as “Manish Uncle” by students across Delhi, he engaged with the children through interactive sessions, motivating them to dream big and pursue their ambitions.

As part of his visit, Manish Sisodia interacted with students about their aspirations and encouraged them to contribute to society as future leaders. He also applauded the teachers for their unwavering dedication to quality education, which has been a cornerstone of the AAP Government’s education model under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal.

Manish Sisodia took to social media platform X, to share glimpses of his visit. He stated, “Today, on Children’s Day, I spent precious moments with children at a Delhi Government school. In the smiles of these children, I see truth, innocence, and countless dreams. I see a glimpse of the divine in children, their laughter is nothing short of a prayer.”

Manish Sisodia added that every child’s eyes hold endless possibilities, and contributing to their education feels like serving God. He said, “These innocent, small eyes have the courage to dream big. Shaping their future and lighting their path with knowledge is true devotion.”

Emphasising the boundless potential in every child, the former Deputy CM expressed his commitment to education as a service to the nation and a way to contribute to their growth. He asserted, “Let us pledge today to provide every child with love, education, and opportunity so they can shine in the world.”

In another tweet, he wrote, “Went to another dream school of Delhi’s former CM, Arvind Kejriwal, the School of Specialised Excellence (SoSE) in Performing and Visual Arts (PVA).”

He said, “It’s a unique institution where only artistically inclined children, passionate about music, dance, acting, painting, crafts, writing, photography, or any other art form, study with the goal of pursuing a career in the arts.”

He added that as Education Minister, he along with Arvind Kejriwal envisioned this school to cater to Delhi’s emerging artistic talents, recognising that while there are numerous schools for those wishing to pursue careers in medicine, engineering, law, or management, no institution was dedicated to nurturing artistic abilities. “This led the AAP government to establish SoSE PVA, with the first school opened in Rohini and followed by five others across Delhi.”

The former Education Minister expressed that he felt immense pride and satisfaction seeing a vision turned into reality. The students were passionately engaged in their art, with a sparkle in their eyes, making every classroom and every corner feel like a living stage where their creativity was being nurtured.

“This school lays a strong foundation for these children to contribute to the world of art in the future, and it gives me great peace to know that their talents are being honed not just for themselves, but to enrich society. Contributing to such an institution feels like a dream come true, a moment of great pride and fulfilment,” concluded the former Deputy CM of Delhi.

Established in 2020, this new government school provides children with training in musical instruments and music. The students’ faces lit up with joy as they welcomed their beloved “Manish Uncle” and delighted him with a captivating musical performance. They also shared their experiences of receiving a high-quality education in government schools.
