Raipur, February 23, 2026 : Projecting confidence in the state’s economic trajectory, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the Chhattisgarh Economic Survey 2025–26 is clear evidence of the state’s strong, balanced and growth-oriented economy. He said that due to the state government’s welfare-focused policies, decisions taken in the interest of farmers, encouragement to industrial investment and expansion of the services sector, Chhattisgarh is steadily moving towards new heights of development.
Chief Minister Sai said that in 2025–26, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of the state at current prices is estimated to rise to about Rs 6,31,291 crore, registering a growth rate of 11.57 %, which is higher than the national average. He said this achievement reflects that all major sectors of development in Chhattisgarh are progressing uniformly.
Strong growth in agriculture sector: Result of farmers’ hard work and government policies

Chief Minister Sai said that according to the Economic Survey, the agriculture and allied sectors are estimated to grow by 12.53 percent, which is the outcome of farmers’ hard work, technological innovations, expansion of irrigation facilities and farmer-friendly government schemes. He said Chhattisgarh is an agriculture-dominated state and prosperous farmers form the strong foundation of a developed Chhattisgarh. The state government is continuously making efforts to increase farmers’ income and make agriculture more profitable.
Rapid pace in industrial sector: New opportunities for investment and employment
Chief Minister Sai said Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging as an industrial powerhouse of the country. As per the Economic Survey, the industrial sector is estimated to grow by 10.26 % and contributes nearly 49 % to the state’s economy, which is higher than the national average. He said investment, infrastructure development and employment opportunities are continuously increasing in the state, further strengthening its economic structure.

Services sector becomes the base of the new economy
The Chief Minister said the services sector is estimated to grow by 13.15 %. Expansion in education, healthcare, tourism, IT and digital services is creating new opportunities for youth. He said the growth of the services sector is giving fresh momentum to the state’s economy.
Rise in per capita income — a sign of people’s prosperity
Chief Minister Sai said that according to the Economic Survey, the per capita income in 2025–26 is estimated to rise to about Rs 1.79 lakh, reflecting a 10.07 % increase compared to the previous year. He said this is a positive outcome of rising incomes, expansion of economic activities and the government’s development-oriented policies.
Prosperity of every family is our goal
Chief Minister Sai said the state government’s clear objective is to increase the income of every family in the state, improve living standards and ensure prosperity reaches every household. He said development is meaningful only when its ensuring that the benefits reach the very last person in society.
Chief Minister Sai expressed confidence that in the coming years, Chhattisgarh will further strengthen its position among the country’s leading economies and make a significant contribution to building a developed India.
