The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall to continue in some parts of the country for the next four days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rains to continue over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and north-east India for the next four days. The IMD said isolated very heavy rains are expected in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue in Meghalaya and Assam till the 18th of this month. The Meteorological Department has also forecast heat wave to severe heat wave conditions to continue over north India for the next four days. Heat wave conditions were observed in most parts of the country yesterday, with severe heat wave conditions in isolated areas of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, Punjab, North Odisha and Ganga-river West Bengal. The heatwave was also observed in isolated parts of northern Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh and in many parts of Himachal Pradesh. The IMD predicted mostly cloudy skies with strong wind gusts of up to 40 km per hour in Delhi. The maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to be around 44 degrees Celsius.
