New Delhi : The Indian Armed Forces following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a coordinated strike targeting nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation was carried out in the early hours of May 7 in retaliation to the barbaric Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
Taking to social media platform X, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “Operation Sindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of the country’s innocent brothers in Pahalgam.” He reaffirmed the Modi government’s resolve to respond decisively to any attack on Indian sovereignty, emphasizing that India stands committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also saluted the armed forces for their precise and measured action. He praised their unwavering commitment to protecting the nation, calling the operation “a bold message to enemies of peace.”
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar stressed the global dimension of the threat, stating that the “world must adopt zero tolerance for terrorism in any form.” He reiterated India’s longstanding position that cross-border terrorism requires a united global response.
Even members of the opposition extended unequivocal support. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said in a post, “Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!” Congress has long maintained that matters of national security must transcend political lines, and Operation Sindoor is one such moment of unity.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge issued a strong statement of solidarity with the armed forces. “India has an unflinching National Policy against all forms of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and PoK,” he said. Applauding the resolute courage of the Indian Armed Forces, Kharge noted that the Indian National Congress has stood firmly with the government and the armed forces since the Pahalgam attack, supporting any decisive action to eliminate cross-border threats.
The bipartisan praise reflects the deep national consensus on the fight against terrorism.
