Uttarakhand: CM Dhami Celebrates Holi Milan Utsav, Extends Festive Greetings to Citizens

Dehradun, March 13 2025: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the grand Holi Milan Utsav organized in Dehradun, where he extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the state. The event was marked by cultural performances, traditional music, and a spirit of unity and joy, reflecting the essence of the festival of colors.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami emphasized the significance of Holi as a festival of harmony, love, and the triumph of good over evil. He urged people to celebrate the festival with enthusiasm while maintaining the values of brotherhood and unity. “Holi is not just about colors; it symbolizes the victory of truth over falsehood and brings communities together in joy and happiness,” he said.

The event witnessed participation from several dignitaries, social organizations, and citizens from different walks of life. The Chief Minister actively engaged with the attendees, applying gulal (colored powder) to senior citizens, children, and women, spreading joy and festivity among them. He also took part in traditional folk dances and music performances, promoting the rich cultural heritage of Uttarakhand.

During his speech, CM Dhami highlighted the contributions of Uttarakhand’s citizens towards the state’s development and praised the efforts of the administration in ensuring a peaceful and joyous celebration. He also extended his gratitude to security personnel, healthcare workers, and other essential service providers who continue to serve the community even during festive occasions.

As part of the event, local artists performed traditional Holi folk songs, captivating the audience with their melodies. Women’s self-help groups showcased organic gulal and eco-friendly colors, promoting the idea of a sustainable and safe Holi. Stalls serving traditional sweets like gujiya, malpua, and thandai added to the festive spirit.

In his concluding remarks, CM Dhami encouraged people to celebrate an eco-friendly Holi by avoiding excessive use of water and chemical-based colors. He also assured that the government is committed to preserving Uttarakhand’s environment and urged citizens to be mindful of their surroundings while celebrating.

The Holi Milan Utsav concluded on a high note, with people exchanging greetings, applying colors, and dancing to the beats of dhol and nagada. The event showcased Uttarakhand’s vibrant traditions and brought people together in a spirit of togetherness and joy.
