New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura on their statehood day, celebrating their contributions to India’s heritage and culture. On January 21, 1972, these northeastern states were granted full statehood following the enactment of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, and Shah praised their progress over the years.
In a social media post, Amit Shah greeted the people of Manipur, calling the state an integral part of Bharat. He noted that Manipur had significantly contributed to India’s rich heritage and culture, adding that he prays for the state’s continued peace and progress.
