Patna July 27 2024 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be absent from the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled to take place in New Delhi on Saturday. Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha will represent the state in Kumar’s place. The reason for Kumar’s nonattendance has not been disclosed.
This marks the second time Kumar has skipped a NITI Aayog meeting, with previous instances also seeing his deputies attend on his behalf. Janata Dal (United) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar noted that this pattern of absence is consistent with prior meetings.
The ninth governing council meeting of NITI Aayog will focus on discussing the “Vikshit Bharat @ 2047” vision document, which outlines plans for India to become a developed nation by 2047. The council comprises all state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and several Union ministers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chairs the NITI Aayog, which plays a pivotal role in shaping national development strategies. Four Union ministers from Bihar, who are also members of the Aayog, will be present at the meeting.
