The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall across Gujarat over the next four days. A red alert has been issued for six coastal districts in Saurashtra and South Gujarat.
Recent reports indicate that the flood-affected Saurashtra region has continued to experience heavy showers. Light to very heavy rainfall has occurred in over 150 tehsils, with 20 tehsils in Junagadh, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Surat, and Valsad recording more than 4 inches of rainfall. Devbhoomi Dwarka has seen widespread heavy rainfall, increasing water levels in rivers and dams.
Kalyanpur tehsil in Devbhoomi Dwarka recorded the highest rainfall of 11 inches in the last 24 hours. More than 10 dams in the district are overflowing, and several roads have been closed due to waterlogging. Connectivity in Junagadh district has been severely impacted, with over 44 villages cut off. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Surat, and Valsad in the coming 24 hours.
