The Impressive TimesRaipur, July 16, 2024 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai of Chhattisgarh reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to bolstering industrial development during discussions held with representatives from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on the upcoming Industrial Policy 2024-29.
Highlighting the state’s potential for economic growth, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his administration’s dedication to facilitating the establishment of new industries. He emphasized the importance of value addition across sectors such as food processing, downstream industries in steel, and enhancing the utilization of minor forest produce and IT advancements within the state. These initiatives, he noted, are pivotal in generating employment opportunities for the local youth.
In the meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence office, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri P. Dayanand and CII Chhattisgarh State Council Chairman Shri Ashish Saraf, along with other CII representatives, discussed key aspects of the state’s industrial policy. The CII members praised the efficacy of Chhattisgarh’s Single Window System and commended Chief Minister Shri Sai’s efforts in promoting industry and fostering employment growth.
Chief Minister Shri Sai assured that the recommendations provided by CII would be carefully considered and incorporated into the new industrial policy formulation. He reiterated his commitment to aligning state development goals with the national vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.
The new industrial policy and the vision document for a ‘Developed Chhattisgarh’ are slated for release on State Foundation Day, November 1, underscoring the state government’s proactive approach towards economic transformation and sustainable development.
CII representatives also highlighted opportunities in sectors like dairy, real estate, and data centers, leveraging Chhattisgarh’s surplus power capacity. They urged for clarity on timelines for the implementation of the Single Window System and advocated for comprehensive policy support to further bolster industrial growth in the state.
The discussions underscored the collaborative efforts between the state government and industry stakeholders to foster a conducive environment for industrial expansion and economic prosperity in Chhattisgarh.
