Tom Cruise to Dazzle with Epic Stunt at Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony

Paris, August 5, 2024: Tom Cruise will captivate audiences with a high-flying stunt at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony on August 11. The 62-year-old actor is slated to rappel from the roof of the Stade de France, bringing the Olympic flag to the field as part of a dramatic handover to Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Games.

In a pre-recorded segment, Cruise will transition from Paris to Los Angeles in a breathtaking sequence, culminating in a skydiving descent onto the Hollywood sign. The segment will showcase Cruise’s descent from the Stade de France, followed by a flight to LA, and conclude with him skydiving to the iconic landmark. The flag will then be handed off to athletes, including a cyclist, skateboarder, and volleyball player, who will showcase it around the upcoming host city.

TMZ reports that this stunt sequence was filmed earlier in March. Although images of Cruise descending the Hollywood sign circulated online, their connection to the Olympics was initially unknown. According to the report, Cruise proposed the stunt idea to the International Olympic Committee to create a memorable link between the Paris and LA Games.

The Paris 2024 Organizing Committee has yet to release detailed plans for the closing ceremony. Thomas Jolly, the artistic director, aims to transform the Stade de France into a concert hall featuring over 100 performers. Jolly described the event as a visually stunning, choreographic, and acrobatic spectacle designed to offer a grand farewell to athletes from around the world. Cruise, who previously carried the Olympic torch in LA in 2004, has also been seen attending various events at the Paris Games, including women’s gymnastics and swimming,
