London, June 12 – Manchester City have completed their fourth signing of the summer, securing the services of Dutch international midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan for £46.5 million (approximately USD 63 million). The 26-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the reigning Premier League champions.
The announcement of Reijnders’ transfer came after the summer transfer window closed on Tuesday evening, but the club confirmed that he will still be eligible to feature in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Reijnders’ arrival follows closely on the heels of Rayan Cherki’s transfer from Olympique Lyon, further reinforcing the midfield options for manager Pep Guardiola, especially in light of the departure of Kevin De Bruyne. Guardiola has also added left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers and goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, marking a busy start to the summer for City.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Reijnders expressed his excitement:
“I am ecstatic to be signing for Manchester City. City are one of the biggest teams in the world, with the best coach, world-class players, and outstanding facilities.
Under Pep Guardiola, City have won so many titles, and I want to help keep that going with a lot more success in the coming years.”
Reijnders has already earned 22 international caps for the Netherlands and is expected to play a crucial role in City’s midfield rebuild as they target more silverware domestically and on the global stage.
