Faridabad, 9 May, 2024: Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS), in collaboration with Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation, organized a pivotal workshop titled “Training and Capacity Building of Rural Women Entrepreneurs: A Way Forward to Lakhpati Didi and Viksit Bharat.” The event attracted an audience of over 100 individuals, comprising students, scholars, faculty members, and distinguished guests.
Distinguished personalities gracing the occasion included Ms. Sonal Goel, IAS, Secretary – Government of Tripura; Dr. Abha Rani Singh, IRS, Chairman & Managing Director, National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (Ministry of Minority Affairs, GOI); Mr. Basant Rathore, Senior Vice President – Strategy Brand & Business Development, Dainik Jagran Prakashan; Ms. Poonam Sewak, Vice President – Programs & Partnerships, Safe Water Network Gurugram, Haryana; Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Rana, Registrar, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), Haryana; Ms. Pooja Sharma, President, Kshitiz Self Help Group, Chandu Village, Gurugram, Haryana; Dr. NC Wadhwa, IAS (Retd), Vice Chairperson, Dr. O P Bhalla Foundation; and Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS.
The workshop comprised two immersive sessions. The first session, led by Ms. Sonal Goel, Dr. Abha Rani Singh, Dr. N.C Wadwa, and Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava, scrutinized the intricacies of training and capacity building for rural women entrepreneurs. Discussions delved into the multifaceted challenges and opportunities encountered by women in rural entrepreneurship.
Subsequently, the second session, featuring Mr. Basant Rathore, Ms. Pooonam Sewak, Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Rana, and Ms. Pooja Sharma, shared profound experiences and strategies for empowering rural women entrepreneurs. Their deliberations emphasized collaborative endeavors to bolster the financial success and empowerment of rural women, envisioning them as “Lakhpati Didi.”
Ms. Sonal Goel underscored the pivotal role of empowering rural women entrepreneurs in propelling socioeconomic development. Dr. Rashmi, in her concluding remarks, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the esteemed guests for their invaluable contributions, urging sustained commitment to lifelong learning and intellectual advancement among faculty members and students.
The workshop served as a dynamic platform for substantive discourse, accentuating the indispensable role of empowered rural women entrepreneurs in advancing the socioeconomic landscape of the nation.
