10th State-Level Devarshi Narad Jayanti and Journalism Awards Ceremony: Eight Journalists Honored Including Dr. Amit Arya

Art of communication began with Devarshi Narad, the first journalist of the universe: Vipul Goel

Faridabad:Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel, while congratulating attendees at the Devarshi Narad Jayanti celebrations, stated that Narad Ji was the first journalist of the universe and initiated the art of public communication for the welfare of society. Narad Ji is an inspiring figure who remained steadfast in truth, which is challenging in today’s world but serves as motivation for all. He emphasized that all information disseminated should be based on truth and facts.

Goel was addressing the 10th State-Level Devarshi Narad Jayanti and Journalism Awards Ceremony as the Chief Guest on Sunday. On this occasion, eight media representatives from various categories, including renowned journalist Dr. Amit Arya, were honored with commendation certificates, cash prizes, mementos, and shawls. These were presented by Chief Guest Jatin Kumar (Regional Pracharak, RSS North Region), Prem Pasricha (Chairman, PP Steel Corporation), Sanjay Gupta (MD, Skymap Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.), Dr. Markandeya Ahuja (President, Vishwa Samvad Kendra), and Rajesh Kumar (Secretary, Vishwa Samvad Kendra).

In his address, the Chief Guest urged that no news should be published or broadcasted that causes confusion in society, especially during the sensitive times India is currently facing. He mentioned the evolving role of social media and ongoing efforts to define its scope in collaboration with the government. He congratulated the awarded journalists and emphasized following the ideals of Devarshi Narad. He also highlighted initiatives by the Haryana government since 2014 for journalists’ welfare—such as pension schemes, cashless health services, travel benefits, and other supportive plans. He affirmed that media is the fourth pillar of democracy and a vital partner in communication that should perform its duty with maturity.

Chief Speaker Jatin Kumar’s Remarks:
RSS North Region Pracharak Jatin Kumar, as the keynote speaker, emphasized that while health and security personnel were honored during the COVID-19 crisis, journalists who brought their work to the public also deserve respect. He praised Vishwa Samvad Kendra’s decade-long efforts in organizing Devarshi Narad Jayanti celebrations and journalism awards across districts and the state. According to him, journalism is not just about disseminating information but about shaping public opinion in the national and global interest.

He highlighted the power of the pen through examples like:

* The 2012 Nirbhaya case, where media linked it to national identity, creating a mass movement and compelling the government to enact strict laws.
* Media’s role in amplifying Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement in 2011.
* Revelation of the British-sponsored famine of 1943 by journalists and thinkers.
* Global recognition of Malala Yousafzai after the Taliban attack, driven by media strength.

He said journalism is a form of honoring the truth. Devarshi Narad, as the universe’s first journalist, consistently communicated for public welfare. Kumar accused both the British and leftists of conspiring to tarnish Indian history and icons like Lord Ram, who symbolize ideal governance and truth. He illustrated that even in Pakistani dramas, the character of Sati Savitri is held in high regard, proving its universal respect.

He concluded by reiterating that Devarshi Narad represents a truth-establishing lifestyle, not a mere myth. To understand journalism as a mission, one must understand Narad Ji’s approach. He stressed the importance of seeing India from its own lens, not through foreign ideologies.

Address by Renowned Journalist Amish Devgan:
Noted journalist and news anchor Amish Devgan highlighted the false propaganda against freedom fighter Veer Savarkar, who was unjustly labeled a traitor despite being sentenced twice to ‘Kala Pani’ (cellular jail). He urged understanding Savarkar by reading his life. Devgan criticized the trend of drawing inspiration from civilizations that are lesser evolved compared to India’s scientific traditions.

For a journalist, the nation comes first. He praised the contributions of journalists during the freedom movement and in modern times, such as:

* The media’s role alongside the military during conflicts with Pakistan.
* “Operation Sindoor” that showcased India’s unyielding spirit to the world.

He pointed out that while Indian forces have real war experience, the Chinese army has not fought a battle since 1962. Thus, India should teach the world—not be taught by it.

Remarks by Rajesh Kumar (Secretary, Vishwa Samvad Kendra):
Rajesh Kumar shared that Vishwa Samvad Kendra began in the 1990s to present truth backed by facts. He criticized Bollywood’s past attempts to distort Sanatan values and emphasized the inclusion of Devarshi Narad’s character in this cultural distortion. Today, thanks to the Center’s consistent efforts, people recognize Narad Ji as the first journalist. He stated that the organization is striving to correct the national viewpoint.

Dignitaries Present:
MLA Satish Fagna, Department Sanghchalak Arvind Sood, Deputy Sanghchalak Jaykishan, Veerbhan Sharma, Sanjeevan Kumar, Rajesh Maheshwari (Dept.
