Faridabad Mayor Praveen Batra Joshi calls for public participation in Swachh Survekshan 2025

Residents and Councilors asked to actively participate in citywide clean-up efforts

Faridabad: The newly elected Mayor of Faridabad, Praveen Batra Joshi, has urged the people of Faridabad to actively participate in the upcoming Swachh Survekshan 2025, a Cleanliness Survey, where teams will assess the city’s sanitation levels.

Mayor appealed to residents to cooperate with the municipal corporation and maintain cleanliness in their surroundings. She also called on newly elected councilors to actively promote cleanliness awareness among citizens.

Highlighting the significance of cleanliness, she referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s efforts to ensure its success across the state. She emphasized the need for a strong public awareness campaign to educate everyone on maintaining cleanliness.

She acknowledged the continuous efforts of the municipal administration to keep the city clean and urged citizens to support their work. She encouraged every individual to take a pledge not to litter and to ensure cleanliness in their surroundings.

She also reminded residents about the importance of proper waste disposal and urged them to follow essential guidelines to maintain cleanliness in the city. She emphasized that waste should be disposed of only at designated collection centers to ensure efficient management. Additionally, she stressed the need to separate wet and dry waste before disposal, making it easier for the authorities to process and recycle waste effectively. She also warned against throwing plastic waste into drains and sewers, as it causes blockages and leads to street pollution, ultimately affecting the overall hygiene of the city.

Addressing the councilors, she encouraged them to take the same door-to-door approach they used for election campaigns to promote the cleanliness drive. She emphasized that only with collective efforts can they fulfill their promises to the public.

Finally, she urged all Faridabad residents to contribute towards securing a higher ranking in the Cleanliness Survey 2025, making the city a model of cleanliness at the national level.
