Faridabad, August 3 2024 : A tree plantation programme was held in the ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign organized in the city-based Vidyasagar International School, Gharonda, Greater Faridabad, on Saturday. The event was inaugurated by Tigaon MLA Rajesh Nagar. This was in tandem with the tree plantation drive. The school had also organized a health camp for parents, exhibitions for Science, Commerce, and Arts streams, and a PTM. The programme also acknowledged and felicitated students in their achievement in sports. A warm welcome was given to MLA Rajesh Nagar on his arrival by students and school authorities.
While addressing the parents, children and teachers, the MLA Rajesh Nagar mentioned about the importance of planting trees as these trees will grow into big plants providing oxygen to all the living beings. He appealed for all to plant and nurture trees. He thanked the School management for their commitment towards the cause. He appreciatingly mentioned Vidyasagar International School for organizing such activities that would help in advancing the students and urged more such activities for advancement of girl child education.
The programme was presided over by the school director Deepak Yadav, who promised to properly care for the plants until they grew into trees. In his speech, he spoke about the role of trees in producing oxygen to maintain the balance of the environment. As the monsoon season has already started, he appealed to all of them to plant more and more trees in their houses, neighboring places, and parks so that the future generation may remain safe. He also thanked MLA Rajesh Nagar for the new roads in the rural area because of which students going to school and returning back home are saved of much time.
Principal Rekha Malik informed about the programme undertaken throughout the day. After the tree plantation, a health camp for the parents was also organised, in which more than 500 parents were benefited. The camp was conducted in association with Park Hospital. Apart from this, the athletes who performed well in archery and boxing were also honoured. These athletes included Sneha, Palak and Savya Sanchi. Among the other special guests present were social worker Dayanand Nagar, Sunil Nagar, Manoj Bhati, Coordinator Pooja Sharma, Monica Vashisht, Anjul Bhati, and PTI Mukesh.
