Greater Noida, July 18 2024 : In a significant development for the residents of Greater Noida West, the Greater Noida Authority has announced the construction of its first Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). The project, with a capacity of 45 MLD (Million Liters per Day), comes with an estimated cost of ₹80 crore. Tenders for this critical infrastructure have been issued, and the tendering process is expected to conclude within a month. Construction is slated to begin shortly thereafter, with a completion target set for one and a half years.
The introduction of this STP is expected to greatly benefit the residents of various sectors and villages in Greater Noida West by providing a much-needed solution to sewage treatment challenges. The move addresses the long-standing need for a dedicated sewage treatment facility in the area.
N.G. Ravi Kumar, CEO of the Greater Noida Authority, has emphasized the urgency of the project and has expedited the tendering process. Ashutosh Dwivedi, the ACEO of the authority, announced that companies interested in the project can submit their bids by July 29, with the pre-qualification bid opening on July 31. The selection process will be fast-tracked to ensure timely commencement of construction.
In addition to the STP, the Greater Noida Authority has issued tenders worth approximately ₹18 crore for 23 other development projects. These include internal electrification of community buildings in Sector Beta 1 and 2, installation of LED lights in designated areas, electrical, mechanical, and civil works for three zonal reservoirs, GIS mapping, laying distribution lines in Sectors 16B and 16C, repairs to swings in various sectors, and installation of open gym equipment in Sector 2.
CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar has instructed that the tender process for these development works be completed swiftly, with an emphasis on high-quality execution. The goal is to enhance infrastructure and amenities across Greater Noida West, improving the overall quality of life for its residents.
