Micro observers will monitor voting process at polling stations: DEO Vikram Singh

Faridabad,16 May, 2024 : DEO and DC Vikram Singh emphasized the pivotal role of micro observers in ensuring the integrity and transparency of elections. These observers will meticulously oversee activities at polling stations during voting procedures. Under the supervision of General Observer Akshay Kumar Singh, DEO Vikram Singh conducted comprehensive training for all micro observers at the Convention Hall in Sector-12, aimed at facilitating smooth and impartial conduct of the 18th Lok Sabha General Elections-2024. DEO elaborated that micro observers will operate under the direction of the general observer, diligently monitoring election proceedings at assigned polling stations. They will oversee voting processes and mock polls, ensuring timely execution. Prompt action will be taken on complaints lodged by polling agents, election representatives, or any political entity, promptly reporting to the General Supervisor. Additionally, stringent measures will be implemented to prevent unauthorized access to polling stations. Vigilance during voting will include verifying the presence of electoral ink on voters, proper sealing of EVMs post-voting, and recording BU and CU numbers. Any irregularities detected will be promptly communicated to the General Observer. General Observer Akshay Kumar Singh, providing specialized oversight and guidance, highlighted the importance of recording instances where political party polling agents fail to attend mock polls. He stressed the necessity of clearing voting machines after mock polls, ensuring transparency in the electoral process, and meticulously documenting observations. During the training session, Municipal Corporation Joint Commissioner Dwija facilitated instruction using projector-based presentations, ensuring comprehensive understanding among micro observers. All micro observers participated actively in the training session, underscoring their commitment to ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.
