On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (October 31), commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Delhi Police organized a range of activities to reinforce the spirit of unity, integrity, and national security across the city. This year’s celebration holds special significance as it marks the 150th birth anniversary of the ‘Iron Man of India’.

The celebrations included Ekta Diwas Pledge Ceremonies at all police stations, where officers reaffirmed their commitment to upholding national unity and integrity. The highlight of the day was the ‘Run for Unity’, held simultaneously across all police districts and ranges of Delhi, drawing enthusiastic participation from both police personnel and citizens.
Tree plantation drives were also carried out at police stations and educational institutions to promote environmental awareness and a sense of collective responsibility. Additionally, photo exhibitions showcasing the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel were organized to inspire children, students, and visitors.

In the Central Range, the run at DDU Park, Central District, witnessed the presence of Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Spl. CP (L&O Zone-I), and cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal as the Chief Guest, with over 800 participants joining the event.
In the Northern Range, Vijay Singh, IPS, Jt. CP/Northern Range led the run at New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp, graced by Olympic bronze medalist wrestler Aman Sehrawat.
The Eastern Range held its event at the Yamuna Sports Complex, where Padma Shri awardee actor Manoj Joshi was the chief guest. Senior officers including Sh. Rajiv Ranjan, Addl. CP/Eastern Range, and numerous police personnel, students, and residents participated actively.

The Southern Range organized its run from Qutub Minar, attended by Madhup Tewari, Spl. CP (L&O Zone-II), along with Rajat Sharma, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of India TV, who motivated participants with his words.
In New Delhi Range, Amit Goel, IPS, DCP/South-West District, led the event in the presence of MLA Kailash Gahlot, Dr. S.K. Sarin (Director, ILBS), and legendary cricketer Madan Lal, who encouraged participants with inspiring messages.
The Western Range event at the Outer District DCP Office Complex saw participation from Jatin Narwal, IPS, Jt. CP/Western Range, and Olympic Silver Medalist Ravi Kumar Dahiya, who flagged off the run joined by over 350 participants.
The Transport Range conducted its run at Aerocity, led by Milind Mahadeo Dumbere, IPS, Jt. CP/Transport Range, with around 750 participants including CISF personnel taking part enthusiastically.
All participants also took the Unity Pledge, reaffirming their dedication to preserving India’s unity, integrity, and security. The city-wide celebrations reflected the true spirit of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and paid a glowing tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of a united India.
