Over 150 stalls showcase Uttar Pradesh’s crafts, textiles, and entrepreneurship; MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan praises artisans, highlights state’s industrial growth and investment-friendly policies

New Delhi: The 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 concluded with a ceremony attended by Rakesh Sachan, Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Khadi & Village Industries, Silk, Handloom & Textile, Uttar Pradesh. During the closing, he lauded the outstanding performance of the Uttar Pradesh Pavilion and highlighted the state’s entrepreneurial achievements and diverse products. Minister Rakesh Sachan visited the UP Pavilion, designed on the theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, which emerged as a major attraction, drawing attention from domestic and international visitors and dignitaries.

Uttar Pradesh has participated continuously in the IITF since 1991, and the pavilion showcased the state’s rich craftsmanship, industrial innovation, and self-reliance. The exhibition included contributions from state government departments such as Information & Tourism, as well as institutions like UPIDA, Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority, and Yamuna Expressway Authority, displaying government initiatives, welfare schemes, and economic development efforts. Minister Rakesh Sachan emphasized that Uttar Pradesh has become the top investment destination in India, thanks to investor-friendly policies, strong law and order, and continuous corporate investment.

The pavilion displayed traditional crafts, including Lucknow chikankari, Firozabad glasswork, Varanasi silk sarees, Saharanpur woodwork, Bhadohi-Mirzapur carpets, Khurja ceramics, and Aligarh metal products, introducing visitors to the state’s diverse artistic heritage. This year, over 150 stalls facilitated sales worth approximately Rs.5 crore and generated substantial trade inquiries. Through the One District One Product (ODOP) Gallery, the pavilion highlighted district-specific specialties, creating new markets for entrepreneurs and strengthening investor confidence.

Minister Rakesh Sachan also highlighted the state’s progress in industrial development, infrastructure, and skill enhancement, reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth. The MSME sector remains central to the state’s economic strategy, with over 90 lakh operational units, primarily micro-enterprises.

The government supports these units through various schemes, including the CM Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign (CM-Youth), offering interest-free loans up to Rs.5 lakh, aiming to benefit over 10 lakh entrepreneurs in the next decade. He also detailed incentives under the MSME Act 2020 and MSME Policy 2022, such as stamp duty exemptions, capital and interest assistance, technological upgrades, and energy efficiency support. Key infrastructure projects, including the Railway Freight Corridor, Defence Corridor, Cultural Corridor, airports, road and water connectivity, make Uttar Pradesh the most attractive investment destination in the country.

During the closing ceremony, Minister Rakesh Sachan honoured top-performing units and participants with certificates, congratulated artisans, entrepreneurs, women’s groups, and start-ups, and thanked national and international buyers, visitors, partner departments, development authorities, district administration, police, sanitation, and utility staff for their contributions.

For its remarkable performance, Uttar Pradesh Pavilion received the Bronze Medal at IITF 2025. The ceremony was also attended by Additional Commissioner, Industries, UP, Rajkamal Yadav, and other senior officials.
